Interlude: GalâRod the Glutton
DESPITE WHAT YOU MIGHT believe, you donât need to be a god to be a tender.
Born to slave parents in realm 4-9167-87H, GalâRod Mol-Cyprus, colloquially known as âGalâRod the Glutton,â had been an outcast since birth. With his three heads and six legs, he was immediately taken away by the golden elf who owned his parents and thrown into the boiling oceans of planet Troâthagga.
The result of a mutation caused by excessive exposure to the radioactive gemstone known as âTalpis 10â in the womb, GalâRod had proven to be sturdy, even as a newborn.
He survived the fall into the ocean, he survived the boiling, turbulent waters, until he was found and rescued by a group of steam pirates: warriors of the boiling ocean who used the steam generated from the waterâs temperature to power their warships.
He was raised by the captain whose name has since been lost to history. An orc himself, the unnamed captain raised GalâRod as his own son and taught him how to survive. However, it quickly became evident that GalâRod had appetites that exceeded even those of a fully grown orc.
Though he was barely more than a toddler, GalâRod would eat over sixty pounds of meat a day. While this amount was paltry for the captain to provide, the crew grew jealous of the favoritism aimed at the child.
Favoritism, which only grew as GalâRod aged, growing stronger and larger with each passing year... Until the day a certain crewmember whoâd grown to resent GalâRod for the privileges given to him, decided to take matters into his own hands.
He cornered the then ten-year-old GalâRod and stabbed him through the heart with his saber.
GalâRod couldnât believe what was happening. Heâd never suspected this crewmember would betray him like this. Heâd thought of him like a brother, as he was the biological child of the captain.
The crewmember left GalâRod to bleed out in the bowels of the ship, intending to come back and dump the body once the rest of the crew had turned in for the night.
What he never couldâve expected was GalâRod surviving the attack.
Driven by a feral instinct to survive, GalâRod launched his dying body onto the crewmemberâs back and sunk his teeth into the tender meat of the crewmemberâs jugular.
GalâRod killed his first friend at the age of ten and committed his first act of cannibalism on the same day.
No one ever suspected what actually happened to the captainâs son. As a final thank you for their years of friendship, GalâRod left nothing of the other orcâs body. He consumed him totally and told the captain that he thought the boy had fallen overboard.
The crew searched for the captainâs son for ten days and ten nights before they finally gave up. The captain didnât want to accept that his son had died while he slept, that he had failed to save him.
The captain became more brutal as he fell deeper into the bottles of cheap wine he kept in his quarters. It
